Vacancy: Player Welfare Manager

Huddersfield Giants are seeking applications for the full-time post of Player Welfare Manager.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation of the Clubs Welfare Policy along with the Head of Welfare at Rugby League Cares. Integration process of new Players, staff and their families to the teams whilst also providing ongoing care, assistance and support to established players and High-performance management team. Implementation of the Welfare blueprint and strategy set out by RL Cares and the RFL Main point of contact for the Player and families of squad is essential.

Essential qualifications

Up to date DBS Certificate

Time To Listen Qualification

MHFA Full Qualification

Safeguarding and Protecting Children Qualification

Level 3 Counsellor qualification.

Skills, Abilities, Knowledge of the successful candidate.

Good knowledge of local areas in respect of the training ground and stadiums. Knowledge of relevant safeguarding protocols. Excellent inter-personal skills and ability to professionally manage and maintain multiple relationships. Ability to communicate concisely, assertively and effectively with various professional disciplines and at all levels of an organisation.  Excellent verbal, written communication and IT skills. Excellent planning, organisation and time management skills. Ability to work effectively under own initiative to develop the Player welfare function and as a team member.  Proactive and practical approach to completing Player requirements. Have a flexible attitude to work, including attendance at all matches. Ability to adapt quickly, have a flexible attitude and to anticipate and prioritise different workloads.  Maintain absolute confidentiality.  Be prepared to work, at times, unsociable hours including evenings and weekends and can travel.
