Huddersfield Giants marked their second friendly game with a comfortable win, running in nine tries against Batley Bulldogs in a 50-6 victory, with Theo Fages and Louis Senior both bagging a brace.

Huddersfield started strongly and on their opening set, Innes Senior tapped the ball after a Theo Fages kick into the hands of Luke Yates, who touched down before Tui Lolohea slotted the conversion from close range. The visitors struck back, however and after a penalty at the end of the set and a repeat set by the Bulldogs, Craig Lingard's men opened their account courtesy of Joshua Hodson.

The hosts were soon back on top after a great inside step from Theo Fages set up the French International to score. Lolohea converted for his second of the day to give the Giants a 6 point lead. That lead was extended with 18 on the clock, a Leroy Cudjoe pounced on a loose ball in the in goal to score the Giants third of the day. Lolohea pulled the conversion wide left, however and the lead was set at 10 going into the second quarter.

The Giants were over again with six minutes of the half remaining, with Chris McQueen this time crossing over. Lolohea made no mistake with the conversion this time. Huddersfield would score once more before the half-time whistle, as a loose ball was pounced upon by Theo Fages, who offloaded to Louis Senior for the Giants fifth of the afternoon, giving the Giants a 22-point half-time lead.

Huddersfield started the second half well and got on the board in the second stanza with a good try from Louis Senior, with Lolohea converting before finishing his day having scored 12 points. Fages scored his second a few minutes later after finding yet another gap in the Batley line to cross over. Oliver Russell stepped up to kicking duties, and dispatched his first effort with aplomb as the Giants hit 40 with 27 left on the clock. Louis' twin brother Innes would be the next to touch down a few minutes later in the far corner, Olly Russell was unable to nail the conversion from the touchline and the Giants led by 44-6 with 25 minutes on the clock.

With 10 on the clock, the Giants hit 50 after a tremendous team move found presented Olly Ashall-Bott with an opportunity to touch down, and the full-back duly obliged. Russell sealed the half-century for the Giants for his second conversion of the afternoon. That would prove to be the final score of an excellent first hit out at the John Smith's Stadium for the Giants, hitting nine tries and comfortably beating their Championship opposition, next up, the Giants face Hull KR in their final warm-up game before they face Toulouse Olympique in Week 1 of the Betfred Super League.
