Biography

Andy Kelly joined the Giants in 2014 as the Head of Youth Development following a four-and-a-half year spell working for the RFL in the North East as Regional Performance Coach.

Kelly enjoyed spells at Wakefield Wildcats and Hull KR as a player before he took up coaching and led the Wildcats into Super League. He also had a 13-year stint as Head Coach of the Irish national team between 1998 and 2011, as well as spells in charge of Gateshead, Featherstone and Dewsbury.

Kelly’s role at the Giants sees him oversee both the Under 19s Academy and Under 16 Scholars, with the aim of bringing the best young talent through the ranks and into the professional game.

Kelly has also undertaken a new role as England Academy Coach and will travel to Australia with the England Academy squad for their summer tests.
