Huddersfield Giants recorded their third defeat of the Betfred Super League season, losing by a point courtesy of Jordan Abdull, 25-24, at Craven Park. 

The Giants started poorly, conceding the fastest try in Super League history after just 7 seconds after a mistake on the kick-off. Things went bad to worse for Huddersfield as they found themselves 18-0 down within 27 minutes. 

Jermaine McGillvary got the Claret & Gold on the board after a well-worked move but Huddersfield would go into the sheds at half-time with a 14 point deficit. 

Huddersfield were much better after the restart, however, and levelled the game courtesy of tries from Darnell McIntosh, Jake Wardle and Chris McQueen, who seemed to have fumbled the ball in the build-up but was given the all clear by the video referee. McQueen's try set the stage for Aidan Sezer, who gave the Giants the lead for the first time in the 67th minute. 

The lead would be short-lived however, as the hosts would score soon after to restore their lead. This in-turn wouldn't last long, as Darnell McIntosh got on the end of yet another well worked move to strike level again.

But the Giants fightback would be in vain, as Jordan Abdull kicking the one-pointer to continue the Giants search for their first win. They'll face Champions, St Helens, next Thursday at the John Smith's Stadium as they endeavour to get their first Super League win of 2021.
