Jermaine McGillvary has paid tribute to his teammate Michael Lawrence ahead of his testimonial game, against Bradford Bulls tomorrow at 3pm.

The England and Giants winger spoke about the back-rower's influence on his career and how his attitude on and off the field has shaped his own professional career.

"Even though Michael is a couple of years younger than me and plays in a different positions, watching how hard he works on and off the field has definitely motivated me through the years and shown me how I can better myself"

McGillvary has echoed the sentiment of other players by highlighting Lawrence's desire to improve himself as his best quality, and remembers trying to keep up with Bruno's drive on the training field.

"I would say his best quality is his professionalism, he trains the way he plays."

"I tried training with him once in the gym, many years ago - it was my first and last time! I like to go at my own pace but he is relentless, it's very much all or nothing with him!

"He's a leader within our group, he's a person we all look up to, a true top professional"

In terms of the game itself, McGillvary is looking forward to seeing how the hard work in the season will translate on the field.

"I'm looking forward to the performance, the boys have worked so hard in preseason and built some really good combinations so it will be good to see some of what has been worked on in the game. At times, not everything will be a polished as it could be but we will have enough resolve to fix it."

Tickets are still available on the gate for tomorrow's fixture against Bradford Bulls, Michael Lawrence's testimonial. Kick off is at 3pm with the Ticket Office open from 1pm.
