GIANTS SIGN HODGSON

Huddersfield Giants are delighted to announce the signing of young back Jeylan Hodgson from Goole Vikings on a two year deal.

Huddersfield Giants are delighted to offer a two year full time opportunity to the stand out young hooker in the Bet Fred Championship Jeylan Hodgson. Hodgson enjoyed his excellent season in the Betfred Championship for Goole Vikings, which saw him make 24 appearances, score 8 tries and led to numerous Super league offers.

Hodgson has already 38 appearances at the age of 21, and now joins the Huddersfield Giants to further develop his game under Jim Lenihan and is likely to be another player to benefit from the clubs burgeoning relationship with the Dewsbury Rams.

Director of Rugby, Andy Kelly comments on what the young hooker can bring to the table and outlines players he'll be looking to learn from.

"He's tough. He's in a great age range to be able to develop and join the squad. In the weeks we've watched him play, he's been the standout player and a player that other Betfred Super League clubs have looked at. Jeylan will add to our hooking capability and will learn a lot from Zac Woolford. He's another addition that we're underpinning our squad with and it's an exciting capture for the Giants!"

Jaylen is excited by the opportunity and can't wait to get started at the Giants.

"I'm really excited. I've been in a full time environment before and I let that go, so this time around I want to prove everybody wrong. I've spoken with Jim, and he came to watch me play for Goole on Saturday and he's pleased to have me on board. I can learn a lot from Zac Woolford, he's in my opinion one of the best hookers in the league so I'm excited to learn a lot from him. It's a great opportunity for me and I can't wait to get started."
