ACADEMY AWARDS EVENING WINNERS

We recently held our annual Academy awards evening at Laund Hill, with one particular player sweeping up the majority of the awards.

In celebration and recognition of our wonderful Academy, and their performances throughout the season, we hold our annual awards evening, with numerous trophies given out throughout the evening.

The first award is the top tackler award, sponsored by the Huddersfield Giants Supporters Association, and that went to Stan Hobson, who came very close to making his first team debut at the end of the 2026 season, after an impressive year in the academy, his efforts were recognised and he was awarded the top tackler with 437 tackles.

Next up, it was the top try scorer and that went to breakthrough sensation Lewis Jagger, who scooped that award after an impressive year for the young winger.

Stan Hobson also swept home the Team of all Talents Coaches Player of the Year to just about round off an outstanding season for the young forward, who for sure will make his impact known in the first team next season, an absolute honour to pick up, the award voted for by your coaches.

There was time for one final award for Stan, who also picked up the Jennifer Davy Memorial Players Player of the Year award, probably the one he was most proud of, being selected by your peers as the player the valued the most. We're excited to see Stan continue his development within our system, and we're absolutely certain he will follow in footsteps of Lewis Jagger and make his first team debut soon.

We'd also like to give some appreciation to every player and staff member involved in our academy system, and the Huddersfield Giants Supporters Association for their continued support and the running of the pathway games.
