A message from Huddersfield Giants Supporters Association

The Cowbell Army are on the move!

The HGSA (Huddersfield Giants Supporters Association) are delighted to announce that in an effort to try improve the matchday atmosphere at the John Smiths Stadium, there is to be a trial period of three games to try and get as many likeminded, vocal supporters congregated together as one, like Elland Road and Tottenham.

There are many supporters dotted around the stadium who we are told refrain themselves due to the respect for others around them, this trial will enable those fans to be around others who prefer a noisier scene.

There are a number of seats identified in block 7, rows MM -GG, seats 164-180 of the Chadwick Lawrence (Kilner Bank) which have no season card holders at the moment therefore have been chosen as the place to congregate. Obviously, this won’t appeal to all supporters, but as has always been the case the club does allow anyone who sits in the Core stand to change their seats to be able to join others at the other side. If you do want to change stands the ask is to do it before the gameday to avoid congestion at the ticket office for what is expected to be a busy game versus the Rhinos. Please contact the club to arrange this.

Should the area chosen not to be large enough on this occasion then we also request that any fans wishing to move to block 7, please respect and be courteous to season ticket holders near that area who want to remain in their reserved seat who may be affected by an overspill of numbers.

In tandem with this, the HGSA are also encouraging fans all over the stadium to bring along scarves, banners, flags etc and have agreed on a playlist with the club before the game and during the match, the scarves etc will come in handy at some point hopefully and will make it visible to everyone.

We acknowledge that this move won’t please everyone, and no doubt upset others, but there appears from our feedback to be a desire from a section of the fan base to do something to try and unite the vocal element and try and get a repeat of the wonderful, colourful, atmospheres you produced in Leeds and London.

So, if you want to sing, chant, wave scarves and flags then head to block 7 and let's give it a go.
