DETERMINED GIANTS GET THE JOB DONE IN LONDON

Huddersfield Giants recorded another two points with a 6-26 victory over London Broncos at the Cherry Red Records Stadium.

Ian Watson was forced into some changes for our trip to the capital, with Jake Bibby and Thomas Deakin making their first appearances of the season, in place of Adam Milner and Jake Connor, who missed out with minor injuries.

It was clear after the opening ten minutes that the Giants were no where near the level required to compete, errors and penalties given away as we gifted London territory without them having to work for it, and they made it count.

Oli Leyland kicked in-behind Kevin Naiqama and won the race, but was tackled before he could ground the ball which resulted in a penalty try awarded.

The Giants did get themselves on the board however, on his first start of the season, Jake Bibby chased a kick that confused Broncos full-back Alex Walker and the centre scored.

Another try came soon after, an excellent reverse pass from Tui Lolohea saw Esan Marsters crash over and put us 8-6 to the good.

With minutes to go before the break, more great work from Tui Lolohea created the space for Adam Swift to continue his good form and score in the corner, another miss from Harvey Livett however meant the gap was only six points, 6-12.

Ian Watson's men started the second half much better, however and scored after just two minutes, with Adam Clune showing some silky footwork at the line to cross for his second try of the Super League season, Tui Lolohea taking over kicking duties and adding the two.

More pressure was applied to the Broncos rearguard, with a drop out conceded after Tui Lolohea once again pulling the strings from his kick, the kick then didn't reach 20m and Tui Lolohea added an easy two from the resulting penalty.

Another one came, with Sam Halsall rising highest to take a Tui Lolohea kick, leaving the half on three try assists for the afternoon, the winger plucking the ball out of the air and touching down, the bunker confirming the try, the scores at 6-26.

The Giants came close throughout the remaining 20 minutes, through Esan Marsters although his offload when he was already over the try line was collected by Lee Kershaw.

That would be how the game would finish, a tough encounter but Huddersfield emerging with the much needed two points, Tom Deakin energetic on debut.
