Oliver Russell to join Wakefield in 2025.

Huddersfield Giants can confirm that Oliver Russell will depart the club upon the expiry of his contract to join Wakefield Trinity in 2025.

Huddersfield Giants can now confirm that Oliver Russell will be making the move to Wakefield Trinity at the end of the 2024 Super League season. 

Oliver is a product of the Giants pathway system and made his debut for the team in a 28 - 18 victory over Widnes Vikings back on May 4th 2018.

Since then Russ has played 92 times for the Giants kicking 191 goals and scoring 5 tries. He was an integral part of the Giants squad during our 2022 run to the Challenge Cup final and recently surpassed 400 career points in our last match against the Catalans Dragons.

Russell penned a message to the Giants fans, which reads below.

"Firstly, I would like to pay thanks to Huddersfield Giants, a club which made my dream to play Super League as a boy reality, I've developed into a player and a person over the last six years and for that I'm indebted.

"I've genuinely made friends for life and memories to last two lifetimes over and I'm blessed in that respect, the decision wasn't easy but I feel like its time for me to move onto pastures new. 

"I will endeavour to do everything I can to finish this year on a high and repay the faith, loyalty and respect Huddersfield have shown me.

Oli will remain with the Huddersfield Giants until the end of the 2024 season.
