Euan Watson

The Huddersfield Giants are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Euan Watson, the dedicated supporter of the Giants and leader of the Giants Golden Gamble match day draw.

A lifelong Giants fan, Euan brought his remarkable calmness and professionalism to his role, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Andrew Watson, Giants Commercial Director, shared, "Euan was an exceptional person, always positive and cheerful. He was perfect for the Golden Gamble role. Tragically, Euan won't be able to see his dream of raising the Golden Gamble prize to a magical £1,000. All of us are heartbroken by this loss”.

Born 1969 in Kent, it didn’t take long for Euan to make the journey North having moved to God’s Own County in 1972, and he never left.  At Carr Green School, he quickly made friends for life, then doing the same at Reins Wood, Calder Valley & finally back to Rastrick High. This was to be a re-occurring part of his journey through life, meeting and making friends.

He loved all sports, but his main passions were football (a frustrated Bradford City supporter) and of course, his beloved Huddersfield Giants.

He loved travelling and surprised everyone when he announced that he would be travelling to Australia to see his other team, the Sydney Roosters. “Ok, we’ll see you in a couple of weeks then?”, “Oh no, I’ll be back in a couple of days!” That was his level of commitment, in everything that he did…worked hard, but played hard too!

One of the nicest people you would want to meet who could make anyone laugh…we were truly honoured to be his friend and he will be sadly missed.

Our thoughts go out to Euan’s family and friends at this difficult time. Once a Giant, always a Giant!
