ENGLAND INTERNATIONAL EXTENDS GIANTS STAY

Huddersfield Giants are delighted to announce that recent England International Oliver Wilson has extended his contract until the end of 2028.

One of our most consistent performers over recent years, Wilson has slowly become a fan favourite and one of the Giants' best forwards since signing from Bradford in 2019.

He has since gone on to establish himself as a crucial forward in the Giants pack, one of the most consistent in Super League and has made 95 appearances for the Giants.

With Wilson signed up, the Giants pack is looking strong after the addition of Thomas Burgess and rising star Fenton Rogers, alongside another young star in Harry Rushton, there has never been a better time to back Luke Robinson and the Giants.

50% of proceeds from any season card sales sold between now and Christmas will be donated to the Forget Me not trust, so while also supporting the Giants, you'll be supporting the Trust.

Head Coach Luke Robinson discussed extending Wilson's contract.

"He's someone we want to build the club around, we've shown faith in building him up to where he is now and he still has so much more to achieve, when he came to the club from Bradford, he's grown as a person and a player to become an England international player.

"We're absolutely delighted that he's chosen to extend his time here, and it shows that we're building something special that we can keep talented young players such as Olly.

"He's got qualities that you don't often find on English middles, with a quick play the ball and a superb defender, he's someone that is a big part of our plans going forward."

Oliver Wilson commented on penning an extension at the club.

"It's a great feeling, Robbo has shown commitment to me giving me the eight shirt, they've backed me since I signed and its now time to get to work and put in for the upcoming season and help the squad as much as I can.

"I'd like to think I work extremely hard for the team, with my carries and in defence and I enjoy playing for Huddersfield, I can't complain really Huddersfield gave me that opportunity to shine and I feel like Ive done that.

"I'm only 24 so I've still got a lot to learn and playing with Thomas Burgess is something I'm looking forward to, what I can learn from him is exciting, we need to repay Ken and perform like we know we can this season."
