GIANTS TEAMS TRAIN WITH MARINES
Huddersfield Giants teams such as the Academy, Women's and Scholarship were recently trained by the marines who delivered one of the toughest sessions yet to our players.
Tom from the Royal Marines put some of our squads through their paces this week, as they begin their yearly recruitment drive, as well as leading training sessions, they also delivered sessions on how the Marines should be considered a future career option if Rugby is not the desired path in the future.
The Academy, Scholarship and Women's teams were all selected to be given sessions by the Marines and were extremely pleased with the training, some of them described it as the hardest thing they've ever done, showing the brutal nature of training to be a marine.
Bethan Oates, Huddersfield Giants Women's Captain commented on the session.
"It was a really high intensity session, I really enjoyed the work ethic and the togetherness between the squad, we were all in it together, there were times where we wanted to quit but we pushed each other through, its invaluable experience for our upcoming season."
Tom from the Royal Marines also discussed the session.
"It's a privilege to be here, The Giants Women's team is the first female team we've worked with and I thought the attitude and work ethic was first class, they all bought into the session and if they take that intensity into the season, they're going to cause some damage against teams that they play against.
We are hugely thankful for Tom's time leading the training sessions and look forward to an exciting partnership with the Marines.
