VJ Day 80th Anniversary Celebration at Saints

Prior to kick off at The Totally Wicked Stadium, the two clubs will come together in remembrance of VJ Day and the members of each club that made the ultimate sacrifice
VJ Day is commemorated on the 15th of August each year to mark the complete end of the Second World War.
Hosts St Helens have arranged and are honoured to welcome Leuitenant Colonel Robert Carman and Kingsmen from the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment, as well as Veterans associated with the club foundation.
Ahead of kick-off, the two teams will come out of the tunnel and stand together. A wreath of honor will be presented by Ken Davy OBE and St Helens Chairman Eamonn McManus as a tribute to all those who lost their lives in the Second World War. The Last Post will then be played, followed by a minute’s silence.
Players from both teams will be holding onto playing shirts with the names and heritage numbers of the soldiers who sadly never came home.
