RALPH RIMMER OBE APPOINTED INTO NEW ROLE

GIANTS DIRECTOR FOR CHANGE ANNOUNCED AS CHAIRMAN OF NGB COALITION

Ralph Rimmer OBE will be Chairman of the NGB Coalition which brings governing bodies from a number of sports together as one to discuss strategic relevant issues of Sport within the UK.

The NGB Coalition refers to a new divisional structure within the UK's Sport and Recreation Alliance, bringing together various National Governing Bodies (NGBs) for sports like rugby, athletics, and more, to create a unified voice, influence policy, and better support grassroots and elite sports development, with leadership recently appointed, including Ralph Rimmer OBE as Chair.

Ralph has been appointed on a four year term, and will lead the work of the new NGB Coalition. He brings a wealth of experience in the sports sector, having served as the CEO of the RFL for five years from 2018 to 2022, during which time he oversaw the incredibly successful delivery of the Rugby World Cup 2021 on home soil.

Director for Change Ralph Rimmer would like to reassure Giants fans, that this new position will not affect the continued hard work and progress that is being made behind the scenes at the Giants.

“The process was confidential but nevertheless I have kept Ken and Richard up to date as it has progressed. It is a limited part-time role and will not affect my contribution to the Giants. However, it will mean that I will sit at the heart of the sporting UK NGBs, will help shape their collective thinking and will ensure that it is represented properly in Government and other key organisations. Their impact on the nation's well-being is immeasurable."
