WATT JOINS THE GIANTS!

The Giants Women are thrilled to announce the signing of Hannah Watt from Featherstone Rovers.

Watt has spent 5 years at Rovers, getting a taste of Women’s Super League action as well as representing the England Community Lions in the past.

On joining the club, Hannah expressed her excitement at joining, and has sung the praises of the girls, the quality of training and her ambitions for the future.

“I’ve joined Huddersfield this year as I was looking for a new challenge, and looking to play in a positive and competitive environment. I was invited down to training and I  could see this was the right club for me to progress both on and off the field. 

The intensity and attitude from the girls during training is something that I’ve really been enjoying and I’m excited to see where this will take me. I also think that I can add some experience to the squad and I hope to play a part in the club making the top 4! 

I’ve played the last 5 seasons at Featherstone so making the change was nerve racking, but the girls and staff at Giants have all been so supportive and helped me to transition naturally. I’d like to wish Featherstone the best of luck in the upcoming superleague season.”

Head Coach Nathan Graham has had a look at what Hannah can do whilst on trial with the Giants, and has been impressed by what he has witnessed.

“Hannah has impressed during her trial with the club and we are delighted that she has joined the squad. She has a great attitude in training, both in the gym and on the field. She will blend in well with the group, and add some more competition for places which will drive performance.”
