Academy Giants embark on town challenge!

At 6am this morning, our Academy boys set off on a mammoth 30 mile walk around Huddersfield. The aim for the staff, is to bring the group closer together, whilst also teaching them exactly what it means to pull on the Claret & Gold, and represent the town

Stops along the way today include Castle Hill and an emotional stop at the Grave stone of our very own Ronan Costello.

Led by Organisational Welfare Coach Steve Hardisty, the players ill be tested at different checkpoints around the town, beginning at Laund Hill, heading up to Castle Hill and across to Holmfirth, learning about the town, and each other as they show resilience along the route.

Head OF Youth, Steve Fox spoke about what he would like to see from the lads along the way.

"I’m just looking for some togetherness, really. We will put them in a challenging environment. Last year, went to the Royal Marines and weren't able to replicate that this time, so we thought outside the box and went through something of a similar challenge, but in our local region, We want them to understand the diversity of other areas in the town of Huddersfield. So the actual aims and outcomes is to put them in some, in some challenges, in some dark places, and hopefully bring the group closer together and value what we are about as an academy.”

Good luck today lads and enjoy!
