Vacancy: Volunteer Assistant Scholarship Coach

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Huddersfield Giants Scholarship coaching team in a voluntary capacity.

Huddersfield Giants are proud of their long-standing tradition of developing talented young players through the Academy pathway and into the first team. Recent success stories include Jack Billington, Jacob Algar, Logan Blacker, Marshall Land, Archie Sykes, and most recently, Lewis Jagger. Many of our staff have also progressed internally, reflecting our commitment to development both on and off the field.

Our Scholarship programme focuses on nurturing elite U15–U16 Rugby League players within a professional, challenging, and supportive environment. Coaches play a key role in delivering high-quality technical and tactical sessions, working with players individually and collectively to support their progression.

Essential Requirements

· Minimum UKCC Level 2 qualification

· Availability on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings

· Willingness to commit to evening and weekend work as required

There will be opportunities for continued professional development, including CPD events and potential access to further coaching qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

· Support the Head Coach, Chris Cullimore, in the delivery of training sessions

· Assist with the planning and delivery of Scholarship coaching sessions

· Develop players both individually and as part of a team

· Provide regular feedback to players, the Head Coach, and the Head of Youth regarding player development

· Support and attend Scholarship matchdays

· Attend coaching meetings and CPD sessions
