GIANTS EASE INTO ROUND 4 WITH DOMINANT DISPLAY

Huddersfield Giants cruised into Round 4 of the Betfred Challenge Cup with a 6-52 victory against Hunslet at the South Leeds Stadium.

Luke Robinson selected a strong seventeen man squad for Challenge Cup Round 3 clash, a repeat of the 2025 encounter and we got off to the perfect start with debutant Chris Patolo racing through a gap to score.

Another try followed soon after, as we looked to but the game to bed early doors, a reverse pass from Lolohea saw Flanagan race home, the score standing at 0-10.

Woolford then showed his expertise from 9 as he slipped a deft kick in-behind the Hunslet defence, Lolohea the grateful recipient of the kick to score.

The scoring showed no sign of slowing, with the unrelenting pressure of the Giants continuing, some smart play from Milne saw him flick the pass out wide for Halsall to cross in the corner and get his tally for the season underway.

Robbo's men then scored again in somewhat of a unconventional way, with a pass bobbling along the floor, Gagai kicked forward and regathered to score.

Interchanges King, Burgess and English were introduced into the game and made an instant impact before the break, with George King attacking the Hunslet markers, an offload saw Swift race 60m home to slide over and complete our first 40 scoring, the score at 0-30.

After the half-time hooter, we continued our scoring streak, with Tom Burgess crashing over from close range, Hunslet would strike their only try of the game through Aldridge who spotted a gap to slide over.

With Hunslet starting to tire and the conditions playing their part, we made more metres through the centre of the park through middles Patoto, King, English and Burgess.

This allowed a crash ball from Lolohea to send Asher O'Donnell over for his first try in Giants colours, a wonderful moment for the young man, similar to Patolo.

The scoring wasn't finished there, with Lolohea grabbing his second of the evening, picking the pocket of Battye in the centre of the park and racing home.

With seconds remaining, there was time for one last try, with Tristan Powell crashing over from close range to close out a truly professional performance for the Giants, 6-52 the score stood at the final whistle.

The Giants begin their unleashed era with a comprehensive performance against Championship opposition to ease into the next round, with the draw to come on Monday.
