Match Report - Castleford Tigers

Huddersfield Giants slipped to their 3rd defeat of the season, with a 34-8 loss at the hands of Castleford Tigers.
The game got off to a disastrous start for the Giants, with Liam Hood spinning over within the opening minutes of the first half, and it was to get worse as the first 20 opened up, with further tries coming from former Giant McIntosh who barged through Gagai to touch down, and Lawler who spun over to extend the Castleford lead.
In-between the tries, Milne was also sin-binned which left the Giants short on numbers and we couldn't hold out, the score stood at 16-0.
There was a glimmer of hope, as a slick move saw Russell send Gagai in for a solitary try in the first half, 16-4 at the break.
The second half started off with the same as Castleford scored again and the comeback looked less and less unlikely from a lacklustre Giants, in what was a game we had moments of brightness but couldn't capitalise.
Tom Weaver then collected a kick in-behind from Asi and sealed the two points for the Giants, going over underneath the posts.
Flanagan did grab his 4th try in 3 games to keep his good form up, barging past Lane to cross, but it was to be mere consolation.
Two more tries from Weaver and the returning Golding coming back to haunt his former club condemned the Giants to 3 defeats in 3, where we will face Hull KR in our next game at the Accu Stadium, Sunday 8th March.
