GIANTS ACADEMY STAR GOING TO TAKE CENTRE STAGE AT WEMBLEY

This Saturday, the Capital plays host to the Challenge Cup Final, between Hull KR and Wigan Warriors, but the Giants will have significant representation at the National Stadium.
Giants Academy player, Jack Twigg will be swapping sides from playing to officiating as he takes charge of the annual curtain raiser for the Y7 Boys Schools Final. This occasion holds more significance for Jack and his family, as it will be the 40th anniversary of his Uncle, Steve Mullaney who the final is aptly named after, scoring in the final.
Sadly, shortly after Steve’s Try in the final, he passed away in tragic circumstances a year later, but his story and legacy lives on. As a tribute to him, the English Schools’ Year 7 Boys (under 12s) game, was renamed The Steven Mullaney Memorial Game.
Everybody at the Giants would like to wish Jack the very best for the occasion, and will catch up with him and talk to him about his experience on the day following his return.
Head of Youth/Academy Steve Fox said,
"After working with Jack for the last four years, and knowing just how much this final means to Jack and his family, I could not be any prouder and pleased for him. It’s a remarkable achievement and a great honour for him, something his family will be extremely proud of.
"On behalf of my staff, the players and myself, we would all like to wish Jack the very best of luck."
All the best Twiggy!
