Huddersfield Giants and George King are proud to announce that 2027 will mark the beginning of the Giants’ forward’s Testimonial stint, celebrating a career spanning well over a decade at the highest level of the sport.
The testimonial will recognise George's outstanding contribution to Rugby League, and his dedication to every club he has represented.
Born in Huddersfield and a product of the Giants Academy, George has built a reputation as one of Super League's toughest and most dependable forwards. Since making his Super League debut for Warrington Wolves in 2014, he has gone on to enjoy a distinguished professional career, representing club and captaining his country with distinction.
Over the course of his career, George has represented Warrington Wolves, Wakefield Trinity, Hull Kingston Rovers &Huddersfield Giants
George has made 278 professional appearances across all competitions and has earned numerous international caps for Ireland. He has featured in multiple major finals, including Challenge Cup Finals and Super League Grand Finals, highlighting his consistency and longevity at the elite level of the game.
The Testimonial Committee is currently planning an exciting programme of events throughout 2027, bringing together teammates, supporters, sponsors, clubs and the wider rugby league community to celebrate George's remarkable career.
A number of fundraising and celebration events will be announced over the coming months, with opportunities for fans and businesses to become involved.
On being awarded the testimonial, George said, “I’m incredibly proud and honoured to have been awarded and granted an RFL Testimonial for the 2027 season.
“To have the support of my family, friends, teammates, sponsors and everyone who has been part of my journey means more than I can put into words. I’m genuinely grateful to every single person who has supported me throughout my career.
This testimonial will be about much more than celebrating my time in the game. I want it to be something special that gives back to the amateur clubs and communities that helped shape me into the professional player I am today.
I’m also delighted to announce that my chosen charities will be the Forget Me Not Children's Hospice, a charity that holds a special place in my family's heart through many years of fundraising and volunteering, Huddersfield Mission and MND association. I’m looking forward to raising as much as possible for such an incredible cause.
Over the coming months, I’ll be announcing my testimonial fixture along with a number of exciting events, and I can’t wait to share them with you all.
